Jackson Police Investigating Fatal Crash
Jackson police said the driver believed to be connected to a fatal single car crash the took the life of his passenger is now facing some serious charges Police charged Daniel Douglas Perkins with vehicular homicide, aggravated assault and reckless driving. He is also facing firearm and possession of marijuana charges. Police said his passenger. Jarious Robinson, 22 died as a result of a crash early Sunday morning on a stretch of the Highway 45 Bypass, just north of Airways Boulevard. Officers said they clocked the vehicle at 80 miles per hour just before the crash. Investigators believe Perkins lost control, crossed both south and north bound lands before colliding into a concrete manhole and utility pole. A loaded handgun and marijuana were found inside the vehicle. Perkins is being held on a $75,000 bond he returns to court August 18.
