Gutters Latest Target Of Thieves
Police in southern Kentucky have arrested two men who investigators say stole aluminum gutter downspouts from a half-dozen local churches.
On Wednesday, Pulaski County Sheriff’s officials got a break when someone spotted a pickup truck full of downspouts and called authorities, according to WKYT-TV in Lexington.
Deputies arrested Ronnie Claiborne and Jordan Stephens, who were in the truck, and charged them with receiving stolen goods. Sheriff Todd Wood said a grand jury might add charges.
Police said downspouts had been wrenched from at least five Pulaski County churches over the last month, apparently to be sold as scrap metal.
