Rockabilly Fest This Weekend
A music event that will have you dancing in the street is coming to Jackson this weekend. The annual International Rockabilly Festival gets underway Friday and continues through Saturday. It will feature some of the best rockabilly performers who helped shape and define the style of music known around the world. Due to the heat, the Rockabilly Festival will be held inside Jackson International Rockabilly Hall of Fame museum in downtown Jackson. “The heat wave we have people that have died from the heat,” said Henry Harrison, president of the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame. “We have people that have been warned to stay inside. Many of the people that come are of an age that do not need to be exposed to the heat.” This is the 11th year for the Rockabilly Festival. Tickets are $10 for Friday’s festivities and $15 for Saturday’s event and are available a the Rockabilly Hall of Fame museum on North Church Street in downtown Jackson.
