New Jobs Coming to Brownsville

Less than two months after they were taken away, more jobs are coming back to Brownsville. Back in June, Brownsville Element Company laid off about 30 workers. Company officials said the building will be leased by Marathon Heating, based in Texas. Officials said their product line is similar to the former company. In addition, the company said it plans to double the amount of employees. “Well, we said two months ago we’re going to do everything in our power to get these folks jobs, and we did. Just a lot of luck, a lot of help,” said Joe Ing of the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce. It is unknown when Marathon Heating will begin taking applications. ABC 7 Eyewitness News has been told, company leaders will start working on the building, next week.
