Vandals Destroy Corn Field

Police say at least four acres of corn in a central Kentucky community have been destroyed by vandalism.

Boyle County Sheriff’s Deputy Jody Adams told WKYT-TV that someone drove a large vehicle through at least three corn fields belonging to the same family in the Forkland community of Boyle County

Adams says an investigation is ongoing, but “all we can do is speculate on whether it was joyriding, having fun, or something sinister.”

Wanda Lanham, whose 94-year-old mother owns the corn fields, says she doesn’t understand why vandals would want to damage crops in the small farming community.

At least $10,000 worth of corn was destroyed, according to police.
