Performance Artist Banned From WKU Campus
An incoming freshman at Western Kentucky University with an affinity for a performance art known as “planking” has been banned from campus.
Tyler Webster told The Daily News the letter threatens him with arrest if he is found on campus without the approval of the Office of Judicial Affairs at WKU.
The letter, given to the newspaper by Webster, doesn’t mention “planking,” in which participants lie stiff and face down in unusual places.
But, the letter is dated Tuesday, one day after the paper profiled Webster about the activity.
The university’s vice president for student affairs, Howard Bailey, said he had not seen the letter and couldn’t comment.
