Police Identify Shoplifting Suspects

The two women caught by surveillance cameras allegedly shoplifting from the JC Penney at the Old Hickory Mall have been identified. Jackson police say one of the women, Jennifer Joe Reed, 36, turned herself in. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the other woman, Christy Smith. Store security told police on August 1, she caught Reed and Smith stuffing clothes and shoes into their own clothing and a shopping bag. The almost $300 in merchandise was recovered.
