Man Accused of Raping Teen at Day Care

Bolivar Police said Johnvonta Marquise Sain, 20, of Bolivar, was arrested and charged with rape after authorities said he raped a 15-year-old girl after she was left at his mother’s day care by her foster mother. “The investigator spoke with the district attorney. From there they came to the conclusion there was enough probable cause to make an arrest,” said Interim Bolivar Police Chief Pat Baker. He said in an interview, the girl identified tattoos on Sain’s body as well as other details. Police say Sain’s mother operates the day care, which is located in a detached building behind her house in the 400 block of Mitchell Street in Bolivar. Police said the girl wandered into the primary home where she was forced to have sex with Sain. “He (Sain) was interviewed and during the interview he denied the allegation,” said Interim Chief Baker. Court documents show the biological mother of the girl reported the rape in early July. “The department has been looking into the allegations since early July, and we have been working with child advocates, law enforcement and prosecutors as they continue to investigate the case,” said Communications Director Rob Johnson of the Department of Children’s Services. Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department records show Sain was just released from jail, June 20, on a theft and criminal trespassing charge for which he served an 11 month, 29 day sentence. He is currently on supervised probation due the charge. His bail has been set at $75,000 for the recent charge and remains in police custody. He is due in court on this latest charge, August 23.
