Person of Interest Detained in Overnight Shooting
Madison County deputies said they have a man in custody in connection with a shooting where a woman was hit in the head. It was around 2:15, Tuesday morning on a dirt road just off Highway 70 that investigators said the 32-year-old woman was shot. She told deputies after having consensual sex with the man in his car, he pulled out a gun and shot intentionally shot her. She was taken to a Jackson hospital where she was treated and released. Investigators said no charges have been filed at this time against the man they have in custody.
