North Side Student Released from Custody
The 16-year-old North Side student arrested after a rifle and ammunition was allegedly found in his vehicle has been released from custody. The sheriff’s department said the teen was released to his parents on Monday, the same day he was arrested. The school’s resource officer said he searched his vehicle after spotting a shotgun shell box on his dashboard. The teen faces one count of possession of a weapon on school property. He is scheduled to return to court on September 7.
