Patterson Appears in Court; Deputy Still Hospitalized

The Hardin County deputy injured while trying to handcuff a suspect on Thursday remains hospitalized at The MED in Memphis. Hospital staff reported him in serious condition, early Friday. Deputy Robert Jaggars suffered a fractured skull when he was knocked to the ground during an arrest, said Hardin County Sheriff Sammy Davidson. Antwan Patterson, 21, made his first court appearance, Friday morning. He faces charges of aggravated assault on an officer, assault on an officer, DUI, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license. During the hearing, Patterson’s bond was increased from $10,000 to $50,000.
