City of Jackson Realigns Some Services
There have been some changes in the way three Jackson city departments do business. According to the mayor’s office, effective September 19, the street department will cut grass and foliage and will be on call for flooding and clearing of ice and snow. Health and sanitation will do leaf collection, remove tree limbs and trash in addition to maintaining drainage and outlets. The storm water construction will be managed by the engineering department who will handle street resurfacing, install and repair culverts and other pipes. Some of their other duties include erosion control and demolition of condemned property. “I hope citizens will see that we’re doing a little bit better job of picking the debris up off from the side of the street, because we’re dedicating more personnel to it, more equipment to it and to have a clean city, because it just speaks volumes about our people.” To reach and of the departments, you can call (731) 425-CITY.
