Mississippi Examining Questionable Promotions
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says the state Department of Public Safety has begun an internal investigation into possible impropriety with its own promotion examinations.
Barbour made the announcement during a news conference Monday. Barbour said the results of the recent exams are being thrown out.
It wasn’t immediately clear which agency or agencies under the Department of Public Safety could be involved. DPS oversees agencies including the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
Barbour said he’s not releasing details until the investigation is finished. No timetable on the investigation was released.
