JFD Restarts “Member of the Month” Program

The Jackson Fire Department is reinstating a program to honor those who work for the department . It is called the “Member of the Month Award” program. The honor can be awarded to anyone in the department who goes above and beyond regular work day efforts. The honoree, Ken Lott received a plaque and heard words of praise from the chiefs. “Firefighting in general is a very dangerous occupation,” said Chief James Pearson of the Jackson Fire Department.” But we have some individuals who take responsibility for providing services above and beyond that of fire suppression and first responder.” This is the first time in two years that the department has presented the award.
