Soldiers from Ripley and Dyersburg Deploy
More Tennessee National Guard troops received their deployment orders, Thursday. 170 members of the 268th Military Police Unit boarded buses, Thursday morning for a journey which will end in Kuwait. The unit consists of a headquarters in Ripley and a detachment base in Dyersburg. Some of the soldiers are departing overseas again, but for others, this is the first time they have ever been deployed. The group will stop at Camp Shelby, Mississippi for some final training before being deployed to Kuwait. As of Thursday, more than 21,000 Tennessee soldiers have been deployed overseas in the past year.
