The Special Needs Athletic League is expanding its reach beyond the Hub City. Thursday night, the league announced they will start another league in Selmer. Organizers said it has been their goal to expand to surrounding counties since it began in 2009, because the move will allow athletes and their families to stay close to home, instead of making the lengthy drive to Jackson. Athletes interested in signing up can do so this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Selmer Civic Center, or Tuesday September 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The season will begin play September 19.
