Lee Continues To Soak TN, KY

Rain continues to fall in Tennessee and Kentucky in the wake of what was Tropical Storm Lee.

A flood warning is in effect up the Tennessee River Valley from Chattanooga to Knoxville and flash flood watches cover the rest of East Tennessee and the eastern edge of Kentucky, along the Virginia and West Virginia borders.

Chattanooga went from its driest-ever month in August, with 0.01 inch of rain to a record one-day deluge of 8.16 inches by 5 p.m. Monday. By dawn Tuesday, 10 inches of rain had fallen in the city.

Scattered rainfall, some of it moderate, was shown on radar, most of it in Kentucky from Elizabethtown and Frankfort on east and north.

Most of the significant rain had moved out of the region by dawn Tuesday.
