UT Martin Holds 9/11 Memorial

The third day of event commemoration the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks continue on the campus of a northwest Tennessee University. UT Martin students, faculty and staff gathered today in the University Center Plaza for the National anthem and selected readings dealing with the moment that changed the lives of Americans forever. Organizers said it is important not to forget the tragic and horrific acts of a decade ago. “It has impacted America,” said Jessica Butkovic, the program’s organizer. “It has impacted students here and we need to take the opportunity to remember it and remember how it impacted our lives.” Friday, the university are asking residents to step outside between 8:45 and 9:03 a.m. to observe a moment of silence and designate Sunday as a day of service.
