Boy Scouts Earn Robotics Badge

If you think Boy Scouts can only earn badges by tying knots, camping and canoeing, you have it very wrong. Boy Scouts of Troop 6 spent Friday and Saturday earning the newest hi-tech badge offered by the organization, the “Robotics Badge.” The Scouts teamed up with the Robotics Team from Liberty Technology Magnet High School to build their robots. They worked approximately 12-hours on the project. “I find the robots interesting when you can program them to do whatever you want, as long as you build them correctly,” said Boy Scout Robert Thompson. The “Robotics Badge” is part of the Boy Scouts new emphasis on science, technology, engineer and math.
