Lifeline Opens New Facility
A blood collection agency that serves hospitals across West Tennessee is now open at their new north Jackson location. Lifeline Blood Services is located in a new $4 million facility on Sterling Farms Drive in north Jackson. Lifeline made the move to its new facility and will expanded its operation after spending decades at its former location on North Parkway. “When I moved to Jackson in 1990, there were about 20 of us in the building on Parkway and we employ about 80 or 90 now and we were really running out of space, so this space is really important,” said Joe Schifano, CEO of Lifeline Blood Services “We’ll be able to offer a lot more to the community than we’re able to now.” Lifeline provides 27,000 units of blood and blood products to patients each year, serving 19 hospitals and 17 West Tennessee counties.
