Lawmakers Tour Megasite
Tennessee Democrats kicked off their two-day jobs tour here in West Tennessee. Democrats from both the Tennessee House and Senate made stops at the solar megasite in Haywood County. Officials believe the site in ht e largest project of its kind in West Tennessee and once up and running , could transform the economic structure of the area. “This is not about telling people our plans. This is about listening to people on the ground to find out what tools they need, so that when we go to Nashville, as we sit there in our committee meeting, we sit in session, we will know the needs are across the state,” said Senator Lowe Finney, (D) Jackson. Supporters of the megasite said the positive economic impact from the site could be felt as far away as 75 miles.
