Selmer Bank Robber Arrested After Viewer Tip

Selmer Police and the McNairy County Sheriff’s Department said they have caught the man who robbed a bank in their city last week, thanks to an ABC 7 Eyewitness News viewer. After pictures of a person of interest aired, Monday police said they were able to identify the man in the surveillance photos as Joseph Carnathan, 40, of Mooresville, Mississippi. Carnathan was arrested in Lee County, Mississippi on a charge of aggravated robbery. He is accused of robbing the South Bank in Selmer, last Monday.
