Paducah Underground Gas Tanks Cited
A court order has shut down six gas stations in Paducah because of underground storage tank violations.
A statement from the Kentucky Division of Waste Management says the six stations owned by Superway Inc. had gas pumps locked by state officials on Thursday.
Franklin County Circuit Court issued an order requiring the company to cease operating the tanks, which hold gasoline.
The statement says the company did not comply with requirements on tank tightness testing and release monitoring. The statement says the tanks will be locked until remedial measures are completed. Superway has 60 days to fix the problems.
A message left at the Superway office in Paducah was not immediately returned Thursday.
