Selmer Police Release Timeline of Alleged Bank Robber

After capturing Joseph Carnathan, 40, authorities said they now know more about the his movements when he allegedly robbed the South Bank in Selmer, Tuesday, September 13. “A deputy sheriff in Lee County that had actually seen the broadcast on WBBJ-TV and recognized him as his uncle and he notified me (Tuesday) morning,” said Lieutenant Roger Rickman of the Selmer Police Department. After he allegedly robbed the bank, Lieutenant Rickman said Carnathan used the money to rent hotel rooms and lost the remainder at a casino in Tunica. Lieutenant Rickman applauds the efforts of law enforcement and the media.
