Dozing Bandit Busted
Police say a central Kentucky catnap burglar has been arrested after falling asleep on a couch inside an apartment he had broken into.
Harrodsburg police say a neighbor called officers after seeing 19-year-old Alex McCrystal snoozing inside the Hensley Heights Apartments on Monday. Officers told The Advocate-Messenger the neighbor woke in the middle of the night to find a man sleeping on her couch
The neighbor chased the man away, but noticed a diamond engagement ring, a blank check, two toe rings and a roll of quarters were missing.
Police say the engagement ring was found near the front of the apartment McCrystal fell asleep. Police say McCrystal had the blank check, made out to himself, in his boot.
McCrystal remained in the Boyle County Detention Center on Friday.
