Men Arrested after Theft at Party

Two Henderson County men are in custody for stealing several items during a party at an elderly man’s house. The victim told police when he came back from vacation he noticed his gun and some jewelry were missing. Investigators tell us the man’s 18-year-old granddaughter threw a party at the house while he was away. Henderson County deputies say Russell Glen Jackson, 21, and convicted felon Joshua David Hughes, 28, were both at the party and took the items while they were there. Jackson and Hughes are also tied to a burglary at another house in Henderson County where they are accused of stealing several electronics. “He just started spilling the beans. He came in and was cooperative and confessed and also told us he had this so we knew where it came from so that tied him to the second one,” said Capt. Tracy Grisham. The two men both face two felony charges for theft over $1,000 and a charge of aggravated burglary.
