Jackson doctor, Ernest Antwi has been found not guilty once again on charges of sexual battery. Late this morning, a Madison County jury handed down the not guilty verdict against the endocrinologist who faced two separate sexual battery counts. A former nurse at his now-closed east Jackson practice claimed she was inappropriately touched by Doctor Antwi on two separate occasions. He was indicted last November. Dr. Antwi’s attorney said he believes the complainant was only after money. “We are very happy and he’s very happy that it’s behind him now, he can move forward,” said Mark Donahoe, Antwi’s attorney. “He can try to rebuilt his practice and get it back to a point where it was before these allegations were made.” Doctor Antwi was also indicted in a separate case, involving the family member of one of his patients. A jury found him guilty on that charge back in April. Dr. Antwi has continued to practice medicine throughout his legal battles.
