Man Charged with Assaulting Roommate with Sword

A Bemis man is free on $1,000 bond after police said he threatened his wheelchair bound roommate with a 3-foot long sword. Dennis Dudley, 41, was arraigned Thursday morning on a charge of aggravated domestic assault. The victim told officers he threw him out of his wheelchair, beat him in the head and chest, then grabbed a sword and started swinging it at him and two other men in the house. No one was injured. Dudley will return to court next Thursday.
