Food Drive Benefiting Dream Center
Area leaders and business owners her in the Hub City are lending a hand to feed a need for an organization, which helps women and families in transition. The alliance is working to start a food drive for the Dream Center, located in downtown Jackson in an effort to fully stock the center’s pantry and make sure the kitchen is operational before the Thanksgiving holiday. The center feeds about 30 mothers and 38 to 40 children on a weekly basis. Leaders said the show of kindness they have received so far has been overwhelming. “I just want to say thank you to the community for the outpouring just incredible absolutely incredible I thank you very much,” said Gail Gustauferson, executive director of the Dream Center. The food drive is from 8 am until 6 p.m., Saturday and again Friday and Saturday October 14 and 15. You can drop off non-perishable foods at collection points beside Lynnwood Wine and Spirits in the Lynwood Place Shopping Center, Menike Car Care and at Serra Chevrolet on Stonebridge Boulevard.
