Madison Co. Woman Sentenced for TennCare Fraud

A Madison County woman has been sentenced to one year of probation after McNairy County investigators say she lied to receive TennCare benefits. Court papers show Jalesha LaShae Heard, 41, pleaded guilty to two counts of TennCare fraud and two counts of theft of services. She is accused of receiving TennCare services she was not entitled to after falsely reporting the number of young children in her home. Heard must also repay more than $1,600 and will not be eligible to apply for benefits in the future.
