Nearly 300 West Tennessee seniors raced, rolled and danced their way to victory at the Senior Olympics, Wednesday morning. Events included the bean bag toss, horseshoes, and talent contests. Twenty four senior facilities across West Tennessee participated in this year’s Olympics – each with their own unique theme. Organizers say the Olympics are not only a chance for seniors to showcase their talents and participate in friendly competition, but it’s an opportunity to bring out the best in each patient. “The main thing is patient involvement,” said Tennessee Health Care Association Activities Director Sheila Edwards. “If your patient has helped make your table decorations, your t-shirts, any kind of decoration you’ve got going – that’s a big part of it.”
