Chaney Officially Charged

Arrest warrants for Tray Chaney, 18, released after he was officially charged, Friday, detailed exactly what investigators say happened with Daphne Kenner, 18, was shot and killed. Chaney appeared in Jackson City Court, Friday morning, for his arraignment on charges of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, evading arrest and possession of a weapon during a dangerous felony. The warrant says after Chaney struck Kenner’s car with his own, Tuesday afternoon, he physically pulled her from the driver’s seat of her car by the arm and shot her in the left side of the head. It said her 21-year-old male passenger was shot as he tried to run away. “Evidence is developing in this case to prove premeditation and that’s why he is charged with first degree murder,” said Lt. Tyreece Miller of the Jackson Police Dept. “We are going to hold him accountable for it.” Judge Blake Anderson ordered Chaney be held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 20.
