Construction workers Hit on Highway 70
Construction along highways may be annoying to most people on their morning commute. But Friday morning, one Carroll County construction zone got down right scary. Both men were directing traffic on Highway 70 when troopers say a Jackson woman was apparently blinded by the sunlight as she approached the site in her vehicle and struck the two men. One man was air lifted to the MED in Memphis while the other was transported to Jackson Madison County General Hospital. “Anytime you enter a construction zone or area where law enforcement or firemen are working please slow down, said Lt. Brad Wilbanks of the THP. Investigators say they both suffered serious, but non life threatening injuries. Although the investigation is still pending, no charges have been filed against the driver.
