Henderson County Investigates Fires
Henderson County Sheriff officials want to know how three structural fires started in just two days. Sheriff Brian Duke said a vacant barn went up in flames in the Yuma area on Monday, and on Wednesday the vacant house on the same property caught fire along with a home just miles down the road. Although the three fires are very suspicious, the sheriff said it’s not clear as of yet if these are related or arson cases. “It’s a hard crime to investigate and it takes trained professionals to look at that and that certainly is kind of over our head,” said Sheriff Duke. The sheriff said he has called in bomb and arson investigators to take a closer look at how the structure fires were started…from there they could begin looking for a possible suspect.
