Dodd Hosts Meeting on Crime Issues

Church leaders joined Jackson City Councilman Johnny Dodd in hopes of finding a way to stop violence in the city. Leaders from several faiths attended Thursday night’s “Crime Issues” meeting at T.R. White Sportsplex. Many of these who were at the meeting told ABC 7 Eyewitness News that the answer to stopping violence at the hands of young people begins in church. One concerned citizen felt many young people need more support from their communities. “I think that we as citizens should step up and help them encourage the young people to get an education and everything,” said “Lorine Morrow, a concerned citizen. Dodd said, although a date has not been set, he plans to talk with area youth in his next crime issues meeting.
