McCall Arrested on Rape Charges
Officers walked Donald Wayne McCall into the Crockett County Jail Thursday afternoon, after he was arrested in Decatur County on charges of rape. Investigators say his victims were two young family members. According to the arrest warrant, this past July the 57-year-old was at a pool in Gadsden where he raped the girls. McCall is not a stranger to the law. Records show he has served time in prison for armed robbery, sexual assault, and second degree murder in the death of his first cousin. “I wouldn’t want nobody like that around my children, and he don’t need to be on the streets. It could happen to somebody else,” said Crockett County resident, Betty Forsythe. Many residents of Crockett County said something must be done to stop the violent cycle. Investigators said McCall is originally from Crockett County, had only been out of prison a year, before being arrested again.
