Volunteers were out all Saturday morning helping to make over a local home. The Madison-Chester Baptist Association had their crews out making several repairs to this home on Oak Street. They partnered with the Neighborhood Services Department to repair the property identified through the Homeowner Repair program. Many people selected for this program are unable to make the necessary improvements to their homes to meet city codes standards. “We’re doing yard work and scraping and painting and just replacing some siding and some other boards, putting in a new front steps and a guard rail for this lady so she’s safer to get in and out of her house,” said volunteer Randy Murphy The Madison-Chester County Baptist Association Volunteers say they make it a point to help repair at least one house every year.
