ARM Holds Fall Fest in Hillcrest Circle
Area Relief Ministries turned the Hillcrest Circle area into a haven for festive fall activities. Nearly 150 community members came out for the first annual community fall fest. Children and adults alike took part in the night’s activities, which included dunking booths, hayrides and cakewalks. Organizers said they normally help children in the area, but wanted to branch out to the entire community. “We wanted to, not only serve the kids of the community, but we wanted to do more community development to let the whole community know that ARM is here and we just want to make Jackson a better community, one neighborhood at a time,” said Lisa Peoples, executive director of Area Relief Ministries. The festival is part of ARM’s “Hub Club” after school mentoring and tutoring program in the Hillcrest Circle neighborhood, serving area youth for the past three years.
