Boutique Hosts “Boots and Bras for a Cure”

A local women’s store is held a special event to help raise awareness and raise funds to fight cancer. The event held a Sister Boutique in north Jackson was called “Boots and Bras for a Cure.” Customers, family and friends of cancer victims decorated bras in a variety of ways in memory of those who lost their lives to the dreaded disease. 25 percent of the money from boots sold were donated to the American Cancer Society. Those taking part said it was a way to have some fun and raise funds for research that could help beat or eliminate the disease. “Whether it be a friend, sister, a mother, or just a loved one, we’ve all been touched in some say by breast cancer,” said Ashley Cole, an employee of Sisters Boutique. Owners of the business held the special day as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
