Andrew Jackson Begins New Club, Aimed at Achievement
Two new clubs were formed at a Jackson elementary school with the goal of improving performance of students. Andrew Jackson Elementary’s Young Men and Young Women’s Club will have 10, fifth grade members. Their aim is to improve attendance, behavior and academic achievement. School leaders said they hope members will explore their potential as they become leaders at school as well as the community. “We hope that this program will enhance their leadership skills, be positive role models in their community as well as at school and just take these leadership roles and be life learners with it, ‘said Ramonica Dorsey, principal at Andrew Jackson Elementary School. The members were inducted during a ceremony at the West Jackson school, Monday.
