Dozens of West Tennessee teens saw and heard first hand from a man who daily must live with his decision to drink and drive. Blake McMeans, who is now 34, spoke at The Ned, Monday night as part of his “Promise Tour.” At age 17, he was the fourth ranked tennis player in the nation, but when he decided to drive home drunk, he crashed into a tree, and nearly ended his life. McMeans, who is now a quadriplegic told 7 Eyewitness News how teens respond to his message of survival, makes the tour that much more important to him. “It’s amazing. They’re so inspired and so taken back and you know it’s amazing,” said Blake McMeans, “Promise Tour” speaker.
