Last Monday at Noon, thieves robbed a house on Robertson Road near Maury City. Investigators said they kicked in the the front door and stole several items. No one was home at the time of the robbery. “The alarm went off and it frightened them and they grabbed the first things they could, two small flat screen televisions and they just left the house with that,” said Crocckett County Sheriff Troy Klyce. “I think the alarm saved them from a lot of property being missing.” Two hours later, thieves kicked in the front door four miles away on Old Mounds Road. This house did not have an alarm. “What they took was televisions and property. They took some jewelry, games, Nintendo. “What I am asking everyone to do is if you see people who are strange, strange vehicles in the area and kind of roaming around to try to get the best description you can,” Sheriff Klyce added. These two burglaries in the Chestnut Bluff area could be related to three other recent burglaries on the county line. “There have been some burglaries also on the Crockett County/Haywood County line and Lauderdale County line. All of them appear to be the same method of operation,” said Sheriff Klyce.
