Andrew Jackson Elementary Students Honor Veterans
Andrew Jackson Elementary Magnet School played host to a program giving and early thank you to area veterans. It was a packed house as hundreds turned out to Thursday night’s event, held in part with the school’s academy showcase. Students presented the colors, before singing the service song for each branch of the armed forces. The program concluded with a song titled, “Thank a Vet”, which organizers said teaches the children how music can speak the thoughts of the hear and soul.
