The United Way of West Tennessee has a new leader, a man who is already very familiar with the area. Thursday, the organization welcomed Eddie Lee Herndon as its new CEO and president. Herndon comes to the United Way for Mii Gourmet, a company he co-founded and served as vice-president of marketing. Herndon, who was born in Jackson said he is excited about heading up the organization and serving West Tennessee. “My heart is here in West Tennessee, I’m homegrown, my family is here,” said Eddie Lee Herndon, CEO and president of the United Way of West Tennessee “I just lost my grandfather who’s 93 years old, who’s been a member of this community and JEA alumnus for a long, long time. So it gave me an opportunity to be here, back in the community and serving the community.” Herndon succeeds Alan Turner, who left in August to head the United Way in Mobile, Alabama.
