Police Investigate Shooting Outside a Jackson Bar
Jackson police are investigating an overnight shooting at a west Jackson Bar. According to a news release, police were called around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday about a shooting at Jimmy D’s Sports Bar on Old Hickory Blvd. A 33-year-old Jackson man was reportedly transported by private vehicle to a local hospital with a single gunshot wound to the stomach. He was last listed in stable condition. Investigators believe the victim was inside Jimmy D’s when he became involved in an argument with a black man described as having a light complexion and shoulder-length, dreadlock-style hair. The argument continued outside. The black man then reportedly got into a red car with three other people. Two men then got out of the car and began shooting. Police said one of the shooters was described as a black man with a short hair cut, 5′ 8 to 5′ 9″ in height and weighed between 160 and 190 pounds. A description of the second man was unavailable. They left in the red car described as either an early 2000s model Chevy Malibu or Impala.
