Man Charged in Scrap Metal Theft

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has charged a man in connection with a scrap metal theft. According to Sheriff David Woolfork, the Madison County Sheriff‘s Office responded to a call at Dale‘s Recycling Tuesday morning, in reference to a theft that had just occurred on Harris Grove Road. Investigators said the suspect, Kurtis Michael Hard, 32, of Jackson, stole several metal items from the location on Harris Grove Road and sold it to Dale‘s Recycling as scrap that was valued over $500.00. Investigators also said that November 28, the suspect sold more items to Dale‘s Recycling that were valued under $500.00. Hard is charged with Theft of Property over $500.00 and Theft of Property under $500.00. He is scheduled to be arraigned December 1, in Madison County General Sessions Court.
