Kenton Man Recovering After Beating; Suspect on the Loose
Officials say an 85-year-old Kenton man was attacked in his own home. He is now facing his second surgery in the Jackson-Madison County Hospital. He said he does not want this to happen to anyone else. Thursday, investigators found out more about he suspect, who is still on the loose. The man who was attacked was moved from intensive care to a private room on Thursday. Family members said he is in bad shape, and all because he walked in on someone burglarizing his home. Family members said on Saturday afternoon, William Ross unlocked his door, walked into his home, and was immediately attacked. Police said the intruder threw a blanket over his head and beat him until he was unconscious. Authorities said the suspect broke in the residence through a window, and was in the process of stealing items in the home when Ross came in. Obion County officials said they received a 911 call from one of Ross’s neighbors early Sunday morning, after finding the victim lying on the floor, tied in a blanket. Officers said Ross’s white truck was stolen by the burglar and abandoned at the Chevrolet dealership in Kenton. Investigators said they believe the suspect is a white man. If you have any information you are asked to call Obion County Crime Stoppers at (731) 885-TIPS. A reward is being offered.
