PARKERS CROSSROADS BATTLE ANNIVERSARY WALK – Dec 31st, 2011

PARKERS CROSSROADS BATTLE ANNIVERSARY WALK The Parkers Crossroads Battlefield Association is inviting the public to join them for a walk on the 149th anniversary of the battle at Parkers Crossroads. Guests are asked to meet Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tour Stop 7. Historian Steve McDaniel will host the walk as visitors carpool to the site the Confederate artillery first engaged Federals at Hicks Field (Tour Stop 2). The walk will retrace the route taken by troops as they approach the Crossroads, ending at the Federal‘s last line of defense – the rail fence. Please dress appropriately for a 3-3 one space½ mile walk. Should weather be inclement, Mr. McDaniel will speak of the battle at the Visitor Center located in Parkers Crossroads at 20945 Hwy 22 North.
