The Gibson County Special School District is partnering with its power providers to supply clean, renewable energy to consumers. The system, Gibson County Electric Membership Corporation and TVA flipped the switch this morning on a solar-powered generation site on the campus of Gibson County High School in Dyer. The 19.7-kilowatt solar installation has 84 panels that are capable of producing up to 24,000 kilowatt hours annually. The Green Power Switch Effort has 16 solar installations across the region, most in public locations to help educate customers about renewable energy.
