Carroll Co. Perkins Center Readies Gifts
The generosity of folks in Carroll County will help make sure hundreds of children will have toys under the tree on Christmas Day. More than 1,200 gifts were donated as part of the Christmas Tree of Cash fundraiser in Huntingdon. Radio station 100.9 The Farm has been gathering donated toys for weeks and Monday handed them over to the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. “We think that just because we have gifts under our tree, everybody has gifts under their tree and that’s not always the case, especially right here in West Tennessee, right under our noses in Carroll, Benton and Henry counties,” said Kelly Green, with radio station 100.9 The Farm. There’s going to be a lot of kids wake up Christmas morning without gifts under their tree. so this is going to take care of that problem.” All of these toys will go to 250 children in Benton, Carroll and Henry counties. Each of them are served by the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
